Michael P. Logan is a partner of Bowen & Logan, PLLC. He has practiced in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area since his admission to the Virginia Bar in 1980.
Throughout his career, Mr. Logan has helped clients choose and implement the formation of different types of businesses. He has also represented their interests in complex mergers and sales, and served as general counsel to various public companies and professional associations.
Mr. Logan works extensively in the areas of business law and estate planning, providing clients with guidance and advice on important issues, including wills, probate, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, business succession planning, and business law.
He recognizes the importance of carefully evaluating each client’s situation and addressing unique concerns. Some areas of concern which Mr. Logan has addressed for clients include trusts for the disabled and using trusts to protect assets from the creditors of future beneficiaries.
Mr. Logan uses his background in business and estate planning law to provide valuable assistance to both individuals and businesses. He offers valuable assistance to business owners in planning for the eventual transfer of ownership and control of their businesses.
The preparation of an estate tax return or representation during an audit can be complex and Mr. Logan works with high-asset clients to develop estate plans that address estate tax concerns. He also serves as a qualified intermediary for 1031 (Starker) tax-free exchange transactions.
In addition to his extensive business and estate planning practice, Mr. Logan offers health law services. His clientele include both multi-specialty and small groups of health care providers. Mr. Logan has extensive experience structuring business transactions to comply with federal and state laws, including anti-kickback, fraud and abuse, and illegal referrals.
